Transaction Services Manager
SecondMarket is seeking an experienced, innovative and driven individual to join us as to lead our Transactions Services group. Our Transactions Services group supports our Markets by handling new accounts, settling all transactions and providing excellent customer service to our fast growing participant base. The candidate should have a track-record of making innovative improvements to a settlement process to achieve greater efficiency and automation.
Internally, this individual would report to the CFO and the position is a great growth opportunity for the right individual. The prospective candidate must have 5+ years of experience in Operations managing a team. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of DTC clearing and settlements as well as other back office functions. Experience with self-clearing transactions is also important, and experience with automating services such as account opening, deposits, and other related services.
Market Services Associate
SecondMarket is seeking an individual to assist with (i) various aspects of privately-negotiated sales across various markets as well as investment banking transactions, (ii) general broker-dealer compliance requirements, and (iii) other operational matters such as legal documentation, clearing, etc.

Associate, Private Company Market
SecondMarket is seeking a dynamic individual to support the private placement efforts of our Private Company Market. We offer a unique IPO alternative for private companies with periodic liquidity events in which existing shareholders can sell shares in parallel to the company raising capital. The individual would be charged with assisting in executing private placement transactions of emerging growth companies and developing buy side relationships. The ideal candidate for the role worked for several years on a private placement desk of middle market investment bank or worked as institutional sales person targeting middle market investors. The individual is a driven “people person” that understands the art, science, and methodology around building strong relationships and executing private placements.
Internally, the Associate will report to a Vice President and be an early member of the growing private placement effort within the Private Company market. The individual will work from New York to facilitate transactions in private company securities with primary and secondary components. The ideal candidate has intimate knowledge of the capital raising process for venture backed companies and deep ecosystem relationships with VCs, Secondary funds and mid-market technology institutional buyers. The successful candidate would also be creative, able to multitask, problem-solver and have proven track record in negotiating deal terms. Good organizational and communication skills are critical.
Externally, the individual would be responsible for engaging with mature venture backed companies who are in need of growth capital and can attract secondary buyers. The primary objective of the role will be to leverage the SecondMarket platform to execute private placements. The candidate will work with the private company management team on organizing the offering material and then will reach out to investors to solicit investment interest. Once an interest level was established, the candidate will work together with management to negotiate the investment terms.
Vice President, Limited Partnership Interests
SecondMarket is seeking an experienced, dependable and sales oriented individual to join our Limited Partnership Market as a Vice President. This market serves to facilitate the secondary trading of a variety of types of private investment vehicles, including private equity, real estate and hedge funds. Additionally, the LP Team partners with fund sponsors to provide a “qualified matching service” under the US Tax Code.
Internally, this individual would report to the Head of the Limited Partnership Market and the position is a great growth opportunity for the right individual. The prospective candidate must have 7+ years of experience in private alternative investment funds. The ideal candidate has intimate knowledge of the legal structure of private investment vehicles as well as demonstrated relationships with fund sponsors and secondary private equity players. The successful candidate would also be creative, able to multitask, problem-solve and take initiative. Good organizational and communication skills are critical.
Externally, this individual would be expected to interact with clients such as the general partners of private equity and hedge funds, fund counsel, institutions, endowments, financial institutions and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. The Vice President would act as a representative of SecondMarket’s Limited Partnership Market to the relevant communities.
Vice President, RMBS Sales-Trader
SecondMarket is seeking an experienced, dependable and sales oriented individual to join our Structured Products Market as a Vice President, RMBS Sales-Trader. This market serves to facilitate the secondary trading of Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), Residential Backed Securities (RMBS), Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS), Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDO), Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO) and Whole Loans (both Residential and Commercial).
Internally, this individual would report to the Head of Structured Products and the position is a great growth opportunity for the right individual. The prospective candidate must have 5-7+ years of RMBS Sales-Trading experience and a transferable book of business combined with a solid trailing-12 revenue number. The successful candidate would be creative, able to multitask, problem-solve and take initiative. Good organizational and communication skills are critical.
Externally, this individual would be expected to interact with clients such as hedge funds, pension funds, insurance companies, banks, global financial institutions, endowments, foundations, and other institutional investors.
