Transaction Services Associate
SecondMarket is seeking an individual to assist with various aspects of privately-negotiated sales for our Private Company Market. The Associate will liaison between the Private Company Market, Market Services and the SecondMarket Legal Team. The candidate should have experience working with legal documents, be able to multi-task, take initiative and have the desire to work in a fast paced environment in a fast growing company.
A paralegal or legal support person looking to break into financial services would be ideal for this role.
Human Resources Director
SecondMarket is seeking a focused, dependable, highly motivated individual to join our corporate team as Director of Human Resources. This individual would report to the Chief Financial Officer.
The Director will guide and manage all Human Resources policies and programs for the entire company as well as managing the day to day operations. Responsibilities include recruiting and staffing, employee on-boarding, training and career development as well as employee relations and communications. The Director will also develop and implement international human resources and organizational practices as part of SecondMarket’s planned international expansion. Compensation and benefits administration, organizational and space planning, performance management, employee safety, welfare and wellness are also all critical components of our Human Resources initiatives.
General Counsel
SecondMarket, Inc. is currently seeking a General Counsel. This individual should have excellent leadership, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, and should be able to prioritize job functions and supervise a team of lawyers effectively. The General Counsel will be responsible for overseeing and managing corporate affairs and corporate governance of the firm, negotiating our strategic relationships and new business ventures, providing professional advice and recommendations to the management team, facilitating communication with outside corporate and regulatory counsel and working with the Trading division on transactional and advisory legal matters as well as matters relating to SecondMarket’s proprietary trading platform. The General Counsel will work closely with and oversee the Chief Compliance Officer, whose responsibility it is to ensure the firm’s compliance with all FINRA and SEC rules and regulations by providing necessary advice, training and risk assessment pertaining to the firm’s broker-dealer activities. An ideal candidate has in-house counsel experience in securities law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law, and desires to work in a cutting-edge, entrepreneurial environment.
Accounting Associate
SecondMarket is seeking an individual to assist with all general accounting needs, specifically in the areas of the general ledger, and financial reporting. Individual will also be responsible for supervising revenue cycle for an active registered Broker dealer, as well as asset and investment tracking. Individual will report directly to the controller, and will assist with financial reporting and analysis.

Vice President, Bankruptcy Claims/Distressed Products
SecondMarket is seeking an experienced, dependable and sales oriented individual to join our Bankruptcy Claims Market as a Vice President. This market serves to facilitate the secondary trading of a variety of types of bankruptcy claims, including general unsecured trade vendor claims, lease and contract rejection claims, administrative/priority claims, secured claims, as well as structured notes and judgment liens.
Internally, this individual would report to the Head of the Bankruptcy Claims Market and the position is a great growth opportunity for the right individual. The prospective candidate must have 5-7+ years of bankruptcy claims sourcing and sales/trading experience, and a solid trailing 12-24 month revenue number ideally combined with a transferable book of business. The successful candidate would be creative, able to multitask, problem-solve and take initiative. Good organizational and communication skills are critical.
Externally, this individual would be expected to interact with clients such as corporations, insurance companies, banks, global financial institutions, hedge funds, pension funds and other institutional investors. The Vice President would act as a representative of SecondMarket’s Bankruptcy Claims Market to the relevant communities.
Vice President, RMBS Sales-Trader
SecondMarket is seeking an experienced, dependable and sales oriented individual to join our Structured Products Market as a Vice President, RMBS Sales-Trader. This market serves to facilitate the secondary trading of Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), Residential Backed Securities (RMBS), Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS), Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDO), Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLO) and Whole Loans (both Residential and Commercial).
Internally, this individual would report to the Head of Structured Products and the position is a great growth opportunity for the right individual. The prospective candidate must have 5-7+ years of RMBS Sales-Trading experience and a transferable book of business combined with a solid trailing-12 revenue number. Technology
IA/UX Specialist
Successful candidates will work on a daily basis with business owners, business analysts and back-end developers and will be responsible for taking new concepts and designs and creating interaction diagrams, mock-ups and other design and usability artifacts to drive the definition of the user experience of SecondMarket’s online trading platform.
IA/UX Specialists will combine the disciplines of psychology and software product design to ensure delivery of products that give users the best possible experience. A strong knowledge in the cognitive process is mandatory in order to simplify our products UI increasing its efficiency and effectiveness.
Java UI Engineer
Successful candidates will work on a daily basis with business owners, business analysts, back-end developers and web developers to build, test and deploy GWT widgets for the SecondMarket Platform. Daily stand-ups, continuous integration and regular deployments to production fill the days with a few too many meetings (but at least they are short!) and a lot of work to get done ... quickly. Reporting to the Engineering Lead for one or more teams, this role is a key cog in delivering business value to our customers.
Acceptance Test Engineer
SecondMarket's Innovation and Technology Group is looking for several highly motivated and talented software engineers to join our growing team in downtown Manhattan. We are leveraging the latest and most exciting technologies and we need the best and brightest people to help us to create the most advanced financial systems in the world.
Acceptance Test Engineers will work with business groups and analyst to determine acceptance criteria for key users and help ensure the delivery of high quality software components. In addition, they are responsible for developing automated test harnesses using modern tools and techniques and to execute and create reports of test scenarios.

Business Analyst
SecondMarket is looking for a dynamic, proactive and entrepreneurial candidate to join the Innovation & Technology Team (ITG) as a Business Analyst. The individual will work with various business and engineering teams to gather requirements in order to define business needs for SecondMarket's new trading platform. Additionally, the Business Analyst will effectively communicate requirements to software engineering teams to deliver products that meet business expectations, and project manage various phases in the software development life cycle of an application.
