Senior Java Engineer
Description
SecondMarket's Innovation and Technology Group is looking for several highly motivated and talented software engineers to join our growing team in downtown Manhattan. We are leveraging the latest and most exciting technologies and we need the best and brightest people to help us to create the most advanced financial systems in the world. All Engineers will contribute to Agile feature design, development and testing, provide estimates and do iteration/sprint planning, and will be responsible for delivery of high quality software components.
In addition to producing high-quality code, Senior Engineers will serve as Technical Leads for small projects when necessary and mentor/manage junior developers to follow and extend SecondMarket's Engineering standards and processes.
Skills
- Experience building financial software (trading systems, auction or marketplace applications)
- 5+ or equivalent experience developing Spring/Hibernate and JMS components
- Working experience with Google Web Toolkit (GWT) – preferably Ext-GWT
- Proficient with Subversion and Maven
- Database agnostic with experience using postgresql or mysql
- Working experience with JIRA/Confluence
- Strong quality ethic and commitment to good automated acceptance test coverage
- Willing to work long hours if necessary
- Team player with positive attitude
